The following types of products may not be sold on TikTok Shop.
  • Prohibited products are products whose sale is banned in Japan.
  • Unsupported products are products that cannot be sold on our platform. Although you may have the necessary qualifications to sell these products in Japan, we do not support their sale on our platform presently.
    • Unsupported by Policy: These products are permanently not allowed and will not be supported for sale on our platform.
    • Temporarily Unsupported: These products are currently not allowed but have the potential to be opened for sale in the future, depending on regulatory changes, platform policy updates, or other considerations.

Prohibited

Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity (Prohibited)

Coins, Cash, Gift Cards, and Financial Products (Prohibited)

Discriminatory and Offensive Products (Prohibited)

  • Vaccines (Prohibited) such as Influenza vaccines, COVID-19 vaccines, Measles and Rubella vaccines, etc.
  • Investigational Drugs (Prohibited) which are under clinical development and testing.
  • Supplements with banned substances (Prohibited), such as Sibutramine (a weight-loss drug linked to cardiovascular issues), Anabolic steroids or prohormones used in muscle-building supplements, etc.

Mislabeled Goods & Improper Packaging (Prohibited)

  • This category excludes pre-owned trading cards & luxury products (classified as restricted products) and is currently in a limited pilot phase, available only to invited sellers—listings from non-invited sellers are not permitted.
  • Used electronics with hidden defects (e.g., broken screens, battery issues).
  • Furniture with undisclosed damages (e.g., pest infestations, broken joints).
  • Defective home appliances (e.g., microwaves with exposed wiring).
Second-hand clothing or accessories sold without clear mention of wear and tear (e.g., stains, odors).

What happens if I breach these guidelines?

If you are found to violate these guidelines, you may have enforcement actions taken against your account. You should note that repeated offenses will result in more significant penalties.
