Auto Rule Settings for Returns/Refunds

This comprehensive guide will assist you in setting up automated rules for return/refund requests, saving your valuable time and resources. You can streamline operations by allowing buyers to keep products and receive automatic approval without the need to return them. Follow these step-by-step instructions to effectively set up auto rules for returnless refunds.

Creating New Rules

This tool enables you to create automated rules for returnless refunds, expediting the approval process for specific types of orders. Here's how you can do it:
  1. In Seller Center, go to Orders > Fulfilment Settings > Returns & Refunds. You will see 2 rules:
    1. Returnless refund: allows sellers to approve the refund for returnable items without the need for buyer to return the item.
    2. Auto-approve refunds: allows sellers to approve the refunds immediately for Refund only requests.

  2. To create new rules, click To create > Add new rule

  3. Now you can access the rule setting options. On this page, you can set:
  • Name of your own policy
  • Accepted return reason(s)
  • Product category
  • Min-max refund range allowed
  • Effective period (immediate or from specific dates)
  • Max limit per customer in 30 days (eg. buyer can enjoy returnless refund 2 times per 30 days). This is only applicable to Returnless refund rules.

  1. Carefully review your settings. Click Confirm to activate the rules.

❗️Important: Pay close attention to the refund range. To minimise any potential financial loss, we recommend setting the refund range for returnless refunds to not exceed ¥4,473.
  1. Once you have set up the returnless refund rule, it will be activated. You can easily toggle these rules on or off by adjusting the toggle switch.

Editing Rules

  1. To edit existing rules, navigate to the Orders > Fulfilment Settings > Returns & Refunds page and locate the rule you wish to modify. Click on the three-dot icon (...) next to the rule and select 'Edit.'

  2. Make the desired changes to the rule settings. Once you have updated the settings, click Confirm to save your new configuration.

Deleting Rules

  1. To delete existing rules, navigate to the Orders > Fulfilment Settings > Returns & Refunds page and locate the rule you want to remove. Click on the three-dot icon (...) next to the rule and select 'Delete.'

  2. A pop-up window will appear asking for confirmation. Click 'Delete' to confirm and proceed with deleting the rule.

FAQ

  1. Will the TikTok Shop platform automatically set up solutions for me?
The platform has some related rules, and in some cases, the corresponding rules on returnless refunds may be in effect. For details, please refer to the platform's after-sales policy.
  1. What if the automated rules I have set up conflict with the TikTok Shop platform's rules?
Under normal circumstances, the automated rules that we allow you to set will fall under the platform rules. If there are rule conflicts, we will notify you of these and not allow the setting of such rules. If the rules you set fall within the scope of the platform rules, we will apply the platform rules first.
  1. Do I need to personally process refunds for items that are affected by my rule settings?
No, the system will automatically refund the buyer an amount equal to the purchase price of the item. No action is required from you after your rule(s) are activated.
  1. Will the rules I set apply to all buyers?
No, in order to minimise potential losses for sellers, the platform will only provide these services to buyers who meet certain credit ratings and adhere to the rules of the platform.
